New SISU School Announced for Georgia

ISS-LUMO adds first school in Caucasus region

SAVONLINNA, FINLAND (April 21, 2022) – The Finnish International School - Georgia will be the next school in the growing SISU school network and will be the first international school of its kind in the Caucasus region.

This school will be the tenth school contracted in the last 12 months under the global SISU Schools® franchise. It is made possible through collaboration of education leaders International Schools Services (ISS) and Lumo Education.

The Finnish International School – Georgia is authorized at the direction of the investment and consulting company, Alliance Group Holding and Aieti Kukava, CEO of the Finnish International School Georgia. The organization opened Finnish International School Georgia in 2019 and will soon expand under the SISU brand. Kukava explains the motivation, “We are growing. The nearest steps include adding kindergarten and preschool and launching a new school in Batumi. The main aim of our project is to be the best K-12 school system in the region, promoting international standards for education and children’s early development.”

SISU school franchises have been gaining traction because of their hallmark focus on quality education and their processes to create ease for owners. Interested franchisees can decide whether they want to start small and scale up gradually from kindergarten to elementary grades or open all the levels at once. Kukava shares some of his experience, “SISU Schools provide full support in academic, administrative, human resources, financial, as well as marketing and public relations parts. It gives us unique, easy-to-use branding and marketing materials that will allow us to promote our success in the nicest way and operate in the same manner that other schools in the SISU family.”

The school is located immediately to the north of the city of Tbilisi. Student well-being and being close to nature are an integral part of the school - hiking, excursions, and multiple outside breaks all promote student happiness. “That's why we chose Saguramo,” said Kukava. “Our priority was to open the school in an ecologically clean location, away from the city noise and emissions.”

For the ongoing academic year, SISU Schools Georgia offers grades 1-6. Higher grades, as well as kindergarten and preschool, will be added gradually. SISU Schools provided the recommendations and guidelines for the architectural improvements too, to create an as ergonomic and child-oriented environment as possible.

SISU Schools® is a K-12 school concept and a registered trademark of Lumo Education Ltd. and International Schools Services.
